In honor of the Hallmark holiday this weekend, I decided to make pink Cream of Wheat.
I’ve seen the “Smoothie in a Bowl” concept all over the blog world so I decided to take it a step further.
First, I created a small smoothie by blending
- POM Wonderful Juice
- Frozen Mixed berries (raspberries, blackberries and strawberries)
- 1 banana
- little honey to sweeten
I then made my Cream of Wheat as normal – 3/4 cup of water and 3 tablespoons of Cream of Wheat – cooked in the microwave.
I combined the two and microwaved together to warm the smoothie up.
I then added Back to Nature Chocolate granola because what is Valentine”s day without a little chocolate.
I really enjoyed the Cream of Wheat Smoothie in a Bowl – a hot breakfast with the benefit of a lot of fruit. Looking back over the last few weeks, I am realizing that I may not be eating as much fruits and vegetables as I should; perhaps that’s another reason this cold won’t go away. Smoothies are a great way to increase your fruit intake – I would have added some spinach if I had had some!
I have already scraped the snowy-ice off my car so off to work I go!

Thank you for the idea, Heather! You are really creative with this stuff. And it’s wonderful how you pack it with even more nutrition!
