Matt and I got up around 8:15 am this morning and got ready to run. Before heading out I had a pre-run snack….no – not a Fig Newman. Instead…
Half of a Skinny Oatmeal Raisin bar from my freezer.
I made it out for a 45 minute run – my pace wasn’t that bad – the same pace I have been averaging all week. I am happy with that. I tried a new route today – instead of heading out of my apartment complex and making a left, I went right. This route had a lot of hills – one big one right at the end that did not make me happy. I enjoyed the change in scenery and need to run this route more often.
When I arrived home, I found Matt making the Cabbage Cocktail from yesterday. We still had a lot of the ingredients left and I did not want them to go to waste. Today there was more celery in the mix – you could taste it too. The garlic was still potent and after I drank my glass, I was left with dragon breath.
My cabbage cocktail filled me up and I wasn’t hungry for breakfast so I got to work on my dusting and vacuuming.
After a quick shower, I was ready for some food. Although it was after noon, I decided on some cereal. In the bowl went:
- Blueberries
- sliced banana
- Kashi Island Vanilla
- Cascadian Farms Multigrain Squares
- Cheerios
- Skim milk
With some soy nut butter for dipping
And for dessert, a No Pudge Brownie
We kept the brownies in the fridge last night – I was afraid to leave them out on the counter because of the yogurt we added. I was very impressed – they were still chewy and chocolaty like yesterday. A recipe to make again!
I have some cooking to do this afternoon – I am also hoping to spend some quality time on the couch. Any big plans for Labor Day out there?
