I’m losing steam FAST! The holidays have come quickly this year. That coupled with a very busy semester (we are down almost 2 staff members this year), training for a half marathon on top of writing a magazine article (that I have procrastinated for 2 months), normal work stuff, Christmas shopping, baking cookies, wrapping presents, writing cards….
I’m burned out. I’m tired. I’ve started to crave bad foods again – and eat them! I have no desire to run. It’s cold outside….the list could go on and on. All I want to do is lounge on the couch under a blanket and watch TV. I need to get off my bitter Betty bandwagon and get back to my routine again.
I haven’t run at all this week which will change tomorrow. I’ve got a date with the treadmill a little after 6 am – this 1/2 marathon isn’t going to run itself. After I finish this blog post, I am writing Christmas cards until 9:45 pm and then getting ready for bed; I’m even setting my kitchen timer.
Since I have been home tonight I have been productive – here is my to-do list for the evening:
- Christmas Cards
Prepare Ingredients for Crock-Pot cake (making it at work tomorrow)Package chili we made for my brother-in-law in the crock-pot today- Blog (Soon to be done)
Open Pomegranate- Clean Guest Bathroom
In my desire to not waste time tonight, I had a simple dinner. To be honest, I just wanted to eat to eat – I wasn’t really in the mood for anything…
I had the weirdest egg – have you ever seen a yolk separate from a white like that…
Plus a bowl of cereal (Quaker Oatmeal Squares, Kashi Island Vanilla, Cascadian Farm Multi Grain Squares) and pomegranate arils.
How do you re-motivate yourself when you feel you are losing steam?

lol what a funky eggie!! when i lose steam-i usually have a “katie day” and re group.. and take a break from everything..then im ready to go after that!
I’ve been feeling the same way lately. Especially as it gets closer to Christmas and the reality that we’re not going home sets in.
No offense, but I think I’d be scared to eat an egg that looked like that – so bizarre!
P.S. I love your changing header. Is that available for all WordPress blogs?
Funky egg!
I like your idea of setting the timer. If I have things to do after work, I don’t turn on the tv or even unpack my work bag until at least one of them is done. It’s the only way I get stuff done sometimes. Good luck!
ha! i’ve never seen that with the egg but it still looks great!
I so understand. I have not taken my head out of a book for the last 3 weeks! I have 5 more days to go and am definitely feeling burnt out. I haven’t even touched Christmas yet…or my hubby’s birthday….or packing for our Christmas trip. But “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” right???
Hang int here. And have a good run!
That egg is so weird.
I think the best way to remotivate myself as I start to lose steam is to remember that even if 1 or 2 things don’t get done, the world won’t end. Take a deep breath and try to enjoy the holidays a little bit before they rush right on by!
