I had the hardest time trying to fall asleep last night. If you know me, you know I am typically asleep by 11 pm at the latest. Well at 1 am this morning I was still tossing and turning. I set two alarms and was able to get up at 6 am for a run.
My run wasn’t the greatest. I have been having some trouble with my left foot – including a blister and a giant bump growing on the top of my foot. I had the bump removed in high school, but it seems to be mysteriously returning.
I started the Personal Running Trainer 8 weeks to a 10k program back in May. I made it through Week 6 but then had to take a 2 week hiatus because of my work schedule and the never-ending monsoons and thunder and lightning storms we have been having in New England. I attempted to start back at the beginning of Week 6 with a 40 minute tempo run this morning. This run was very difficult and I was slower then I was last time I did it – all in all, not a very good run.
Here are my stats (according to my Garmin):
I am hoping it was just the lack of sleep and tomorrow will be better.
Before my run, I snacked on this: 1/2 of Tina’s Skinny Oatmeal Raisin Bars
After my run, I refueled with my version of overnight oats. Overnight I soaked:
- 1/4 cup organic oats
- 1/4 cup Vanilla Oat Milk
Today I added:
- 1 mashed banana
- blueberries (from the Farmer’s Market last week)
- Stonyfield Farm Oikos Vanilla yogurt
- homemade granola
With a cherry on top! Too bad the 4th of July was on Saturday – my breakfast was red, white and blue.
Delicious!
