Wow – what a long a busy day it’s been. It started at 2:45 am when I got a phone call – I am the Administrator On-Call this week for the college I work for – and unfortunately there was a situation on-campus that I got called for. I don’t have to go to campus but I had to make a few phone calls.
I was in such a deep slumber when the phone rang that I was unable to get back to sleep – until almost 5 am. I had planned on waking up at 6 am for a 3 mile run before my Leadership Conference today – that didn’t happen, but at least the Conference was a success.
I think my two sessions went well and it seemed that the students that were there got a lot out of the experience – I am glad that my hard work paid off. We have some ideas for improvement and after we get the final conference evaluations, will look at it perhaps doing it again in future semesters.
I rushed to make it to the Conference on-time this morning but I did stop to prepare myself a Food For Life English muffin with Soy Nut Butter and Jelly – Rose style (on a paper towel to be eaten in transit).
For lunch, I enjoyed a salad, some potato chips, a roasted veggie wrap and a chicken caeser wrap. I also had an amazing brownie with frosting. Unfortunately, I was so busy I forgot to snap some pictures.
I made it home just in enough time to get in my 3 mile run before it got pitch black dark – I definitely did push my luck tonight. My run felt decent. I am still getting used to the colder temperatures but my legs were more relaxed and ready to run. It is amazing what a day off will do.
After my run I enjoyed some Oikos Vanilla Greek Yogurt, Granola and two pears that were WAY past their prime – I ended up cutting almost 1/2 of one of them off. I also mixed some pomegranate seeds in there too!
Since finishing dinner, I have been to the grocery store. We are supposed to get a nasty rain storm tomorrow and I hate going to the grocery store in the rain – it is so miserable to carry wet groceries in.
Tomorrow I have a 6 mile run to complete…I think I see some time on the treadmill for me.
Cross your fingers no calls for me tonight! Back tomorrow with my dinner at Henrietta’s Table on Thursday.

great work today heather! i had a great day and enjoyed meeting so many of your students, i know our students got lot of out of it. I can’t wait to see pics/read comments about Henrietta’s Table as it is one of John and I’s very favorite places to dine!
Yikes! That is a VERY early wakeup call. Good job still fitting your run in. I would’ve been dead tired by the evening.
The pom seeds look amazing in your yogurt mix.
What an awful way to wake up. I always have a moment of panic that something horrible has happened anytime the phone rings late at night or early in the morning.
I’m glad the presentation went well. Good luck with your run this morning. Definitely a treadmill day….it’s not pretty out there!
