We made it to Boothbay Harbor and checked into our B&B. I am in love with our room. We have our own porch – check out the view from where I am sitting and blogging right now.
I could sit here for hours!
On our way to Boothbay Harbor, we stopped at Red’s Eats in Wiscasset.
Looking at this place you would never anticipate finding
In the past, I have waited up to 2 hours for this lobster roll – and its worth every minute. Today we only waited about an hour. Looking at the place, you would never imagine to find the #1 lobster roll. I haven’t had a Red’s Eats lobster roll in years – Matt and I decided when we made our reservations in Boothbay Harbor that a stop at Red’s Eats was in order.
We arrived at Red’s Eats about a half hour after it opened – look how long the line was – you can’t even see the front of the line – unless you look at the picture above.
At least this is the view from the line
But for this it is all worth it for this
That, ladies and gentlemen, is H-E-A-V-E-N. Red’s Eats puts nothing on their lobster roll – except for its base – a lightly buttered New England Hot Dog bun. No mayo, celery, spices NOTHING. All you taste is lobster (and the butter you may dip it in).
I ended up eating about half the lobster before even attempting to eat it on the bun – it was too big to bite into.
While waiting on line we noticed this
That’s a sign for the best Whoopie Pies. If Martha Stewart says they are good, they must be good. Fortunately they sold these Whoopie Pies at Red’s Eats, so Matt and I sampled one.
I was a little disappointed to find these Whoopie Pies prepackaged – I thought they would be fresh. Alas, we cracked into it and ate it all. I will say, this whoopie pie was good. Was it the best I’ve ever had – no. Was the cream really really sweet – yes. I will probably try to sample another Whoopie pie or two while I’m on vacation – we need a taste comparison don’t we?!?
Well I’m off to enjoy this beautiful day! I hope you are enjoying your weekend as well.

Remember I went here with your family & had chicken fingers instead of lobster? Wow…what was I missing!?!? I’ll have to get back there one day and have the appropriate meal.
Hi Heather – you do! The lobster there is amazing!
