I decided to make some stovetop oats this morning – for both Matt and I. Apparently I couldn’t read the directions and instead of using 2 1/2 cups of water, I used only 1 1/4. Needless to say, our oats were a little chewy.
I used a new topping today – Wild cranberries and blueberries blended with red grapes and morello cherries
This is a great oatmeal topping – it added a great flavor to the plain oats. I’ve seen this spread on so many other blogs, I picked it up at Whole Foods last weekend to try. So glad I did!
I enjoyed my chewy bowl of oats with a Green Monster
I am really trying to incorporate both fruits and vegetables into every meal – a Green Monster is a great way to get some spinach in!
Carbon Fast 2010 Suggestion of the Day: Minimize disposables today. Bring a mug to get coffee. Use cloth napkins at a meal. Wipe up with a rag instead of paper towels. Stick a fork in your briefcase or purse for the next time you eat out during the weekday.
Today is cavity-filling day – when I was at the dentist a few weeks ago, they found a small one.
